Jacumba Fire Station 43 Set for Construction by San Diego County on Five Donated Acres Next to JVR Energy Park Solar Project Site

This new 7,100-square-foot facility will serve the Jacumba community in eastern San Diego County. Upon completion it becomes the first permanent fire station in Jacumba, a modest rural area near the U.S.-Mexico border that currently has no dedicated fire and emergency services infrastructure.

The land gift ties directly to the BayWa r.e. JVR Energy Park, a 90-megawatt (AC) solar project now under construction on SolaREIT-owned property. The pledge of land for a Jacumba fire station formed part of BayWa r.e.'s original community commitment during JVR Energy Park project approval, showing the firm's dedication to renewable energy plus enduring local advantages.

SolaREIT purchased the JVR Energy Park land in 2025. BayWa r.e. assists SolaREIT with the land transfer process. Jacumba Fire Station 43, slated for completion in August 2027, will feature two apparatus bays, four double dormitory rooms, and complete operational amenities. The structure targets LEED Gold certification, Zero Net Energy performance, and a 20 percent cut in embodied carbon, consistent with SolaREIT's focus on sustainability and careful land management.
