The program supplies complimentary pedicab trips for wine professionals and enthusiasts to highlight thoughtful drinking at premier city events, beginning with Wine on Wheels

/PRNewswire/ -- The Portuguese Cork Association (APCOR) broadens its American educational drive, 'Drink Responsibly. Choose a Bottle with a Natural Cork,' by offering free rides at leading wine gatherings. This hands-on promotion invites consumers to link careful drinking habits with natural cork stoppers, enhancing selections through eco-friendly practices, superior standards, and a focus on better beverage experiences.

Updating a familiar slogan tied to alcohol use, the effort widens responsibility to include premium quality, environmental care, and smart closure decisions. Since natural cork is renewable, reusable, and key to waste-free methods, it stands as a genuinely responsible option for makers, sellers, and buyers alike.

The 'Drink Responsibly. Choose a Bottle with a Natural Cork' pedicab activation begins in New York City on Sunday, October 18 at City Winery's Pier 57 site during the Wine on Wheels Grand Tasting. Created by noted sommelier and disability supporter Yannick Benjamin, the gathering unites over 75 expert sommeliers, 150 premium wines, and dishes from 40 top NYC eateries. Guests can enjoy free APCOR pedicab trips marked with the campaign message to reach nearby transit points such as the 14th Street and 8th Avenue subway station.

The rides continue at Vinitaly.USA, the top wine tasting focused on Italian labels, on Monday, October 26 and Tuesday, October 27 at Pier 36 in New York City. This debut New York edition features more than 300 exhibitors and expects over 1,000 trade visitors who can use the campaign pedicab fleet for free transport during the two-day show.

To back the message of picking items that favor quality, sustainability, and improved drinking culture, APCOR teams with the hospitality-focused Cork Collective for an on-site cork recycling effort at events with the pedicabs, underscoring natural cork's eco-benefits and reuse cycle. This year, Cork Collective gained attention for converting corks gathered from leading New York restaurants into community projects, such as a large recycled cork path at Brooklyn's Marlboro Houses.

After the October events, APCOR pedicabs will appear at chosen Cork Collective partner restaurants around New York City, providing free trips to subway stations for diners selecting natural cork-sealed wines from special lists.
