Grants Supported by Estate of Stanley and Gloria Brams

The Parkinson's Foundation has revealed the winners of more than $1 million in grants supporting local Parkinson's disease initiatives throughout the nation. These funded efforts will assist individuals with PD in 41 states. The Foundation backs local efforts that create real change in communities and assist people in managing PD more effectively through health, wellness and learning resources.

"The Parkinson's Foundation takes pride in backing projects that connect directly with communities nationwide requiring better access to effective Parkinson's programs tailored to regional requirements," said Parkinson's Foundation President and CEO John L. Lehr. "Our community grant efforts truly transform lives for people with PD from diverse backgrounds."

Community grants vary from at least $10,000 up to $25,000 for each group. The Community Grant program relies on peer reviewers from the Parkinson's community to select which programs receive funding annually. The review panel consists of individuals living with Parkinson's, care partners and medical experts serving the Parkinson's community.

The 2026 grant cycle supports programs focused on mental health for those with PD, assistance for care partners and education plus exercise delivery. Chosen groups operate locally to fill expanding gaps in learning and resources for people living with and impacted by Parkinson's. The Foundation supports organizations showing dedication to diversity, equity and inclusion. Funding runs from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.

"With help from the Parkinson's Foundation Community Grant, our Online Tremble Clefs program is broadening access to therapeutic group singing for people with Parkinson's disease and their care partners," said Sun Joo Lee, music director and board member of Tremble Clefs Arizona. "This backing allows us to build real connections, boost vocal and emotional health and reach those who may lack access to specialized music therapy. Singing empowers people with a voice, promotes engagement and improves communication within their community, ultimately raising their quality of life."

Since 2011, the Foundation has provided more than $13.9 million to 1,065 community-based programs. This year's Community Grants awards honor Stanley and Gloria Brams, PD community members from Brooklyn, New York, whose generous gift will create lasting benefits for many nationwide.
