Union Backs Sherrod Brown and Cross-Party House Candidates Supporting FLCA

/PRNewswire/ - Today the Ohio Conference of Teamsters revealed its choices for Ohio's 2026 congressional contests supporting Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) for the U.S. Senate along with a bipartisan group of House hopefuls who have shown strong support for workers' rights and the Faster Labor Contracts Act (FLCA).

The Conference endorsed Greg Landsman (D-1st District) Joyce Beatty (D-3rd District) Michael Rulli (R-6th District) Max Miller (R-7th District) Marcy Kaptur (D-9th District) Mike Turner (R-10th District) Shontel Brown (D-11th District) Emilia Sykes (D-13th District) David Joyce (R-14th District) and Mike Carey (R-15th District) for the U.S. House of Representatives.

"We have backed this bipartisan group of candidates because they have shown they are ready to challenge Corporate America and speak up for our members in Congress" said Pat Darrow President of the Ohio Conference of Teamsters. "Party labels do not matter to us. What matters is whether elected officials will strengthen workers and build middle-class union jobs. Most voters across our state share that view."

Brown has spent years championing Teamsters in Ohio and nationwide. He led the effort to safeguard earned pension benefits for Teamsters retirees introduced the bipartisan Railway Safety Act and joined Teamsters on picket lines and at bargaining tables. If elected Brown has pledged to co-sponsor the Faster Labor Contracts Act in the Senate.

Every incumbent endorsed by the Ohio Conference of Teamsters voted for the Faster Labor Contracts Act in June. The Teamsters-backed measure would become the strongest labor law in decades by speeding up the bargaining process for newly organized workers seeking their first union contract.

"The FLCA is a decisive factor for our endorsement and this group of candidates is dedicated to moving it forward" Darrow said. "We look forward to helping elect them in November."
