The organization is expanding at a pace beyond initial projections. Supporters and readers have provided consistent assistance.

Consequently, new board members are being recruited to shift from a founders-led board to a governance-focused one. Those with nonprofit board experience interested in preserving local news should contact nancywestnews@gmail.com. An advisory board is also being formed.

InDepthNH.org Open Positions

The New Hampshire Center for Public Interest Journalism, which publishes InDepthNH.org, is hiring for these roles:

Deputy Managing Editor
Assist in overseeing daily operations and enhancing statewide investigative reporting. Duties encompass editing stories, planning coverage, guiding reporters, upholding standards, aiding with newsletters, and community representation. Requires leadership experience, strong judgment, AP style knowledge, and dedication to nonprofit journalism. Remote position, preferably based in New Hampshire.

Development Director
Direct fundraising efforts to increase philanthropic backing and ensure lasting revenue streams. Tasks include overseeing annual giving, major gifts, grants, and events; building donor ties; preparing proposals and reports; aiding board involvement; and expanding membership drives. Candidates need proven nonprofit fundraising results, solid communication skills, and enthusiasm for local journalism. Remote position, preferably based in New Hampshire.

Freelance Reporter (Experienced)
Experienced freelance reporters are needed to deliver strong coverage of state and local government, politics, and community issues in New Hampshire. Duties include pitching stories, conducting interviews and records research, and submitting clean, timely copy that meets editorial guidelines. Proven reporting background is essential, especially on government or investigative topics, plus strong research and writing abilities. Remote freelance or contract role; New Hampshire-based or strong state knowledge preferred.
