Brigham nurses and MGB Home Care clinicians have informed the Governor and MGB that they stand prepared to bargain until agreements are secured

Maura Healey's office on Wednesday afternoon, Brigham and Women's Hospital nurses are readying themselves for the finish of their single-day strike at 6:59 a.m. on July 9 followed by an anticipated four-day lockout. MGB Home Care clinicians are pressing ahead with their seven-day strike.

MNA statement after the Governor's office meeting:

"We value the Governor's effort to convene both parties in her office to review our stances. We repeated our readiness to bargain at any moment to secure a fair deal and settle the strikes. The Governor encouraged both sides to resume talks. We await MGB's reply.

"We explained to the governor our serious worries regarding the care quality from MGB's replacement staff. Nurses and patient families have reported difficult situations stemming from MGB's inadequate staffing and hiring of nurses lacking suitable credentials.

"We remain prepared to bargain until both strikes reach resolution."

THURSDAY, JULY 9, SCHEDULE

End of Brigham Strike Walk-In

Brigham nurses will seek to resume patient care at 7 a.m. on Thursday, July 9. They will assemble outside the hospital at 75 Francis St. and those on shift will approach the main entrance. The nurses will be accompanied by peers and backers. Nurses expect a lockout from MGB, consistent with the organization's letter to staff.

Brigham Nurse Rally with Senator Ed Markey

Should Brigham nurses face a lockout, they will maintain picketing at the main hospital around the clock until the lockout concludes at 6:59 a.m. on July 13. Senator Ed Markey will participate in a rally at 75 Francis St. at 12 p.m. on Thursday, July 9. Supporters and media are invited to join.
