Justin Nadeau

Justin Nadeau a former lawyer from Rye received his sentence in Rockingham County Superior Court after a jury found him guilty on April 1 of one count of theft by deception two counts of financial exploitation of a disabled adult eleven counts of falsifying physical evidence and one count of forgery.

The court handed down a total prison term of 7.5 to 15 years in the New Hampshire State Prison. This included two concurrent terms of 5 to 10 years on the exploitation counts plus a follow-on term of 2.5 to 5 years on five of the falsification counts according to Attorney General John Formella.

Nadeau also received suspended terms of 2.5 to 5 years for each of the other six falsification counts and a suspended term of 3 to 6 years on the forgery count.

Evidence presented at trial showed that between August 17 and August 22 2018 Nadeau talked his former client who had recently suffered a traumatic brain injury into lending him 275000 dollars using false reasons. He then convinced the same client to provide a second loan on December 12 2018 Formella noted.

Once the New Hampshire Attorney Discipline Office began looking into Nadeau he tried to hide his actions by creating fake documents producing false electronic file data destroying or hiding his computer and forging his then wifes signature on a backdated promissory note.

Investigator Daniel Mederos handled the inquiry while Senior Assistant Attorney General Alexander J. Kellermann led the prosecution with help from victim advocate Courtney Sirois.
