/PRNewswire/ -- FAR.AI, a standalone nonprofit research entity focused on ensuring advanced AI is developed in a trustworthy and secure manner, has today revealed the launch of its first office abroad in Singapore. This facility underscores dedication to applied AI safety investigations and reliable multi-sector partnerships. Serving as the Asia Center of Excellence, the Singapore location will solidify FAR.AI's enduring regional engagement.

Singapore blends robust public bodies, an evolving AI landscape, and a hands-on approach to ethical tech growth. Its capacity to bring together government, academia, and industry, plus its rising influence in global AI governance talks, positions it well to support FAR.AI's regional base. The city-state's push for AI that is safe, reliable, and beneficial mirrors FAR.AI's core research aims.

FAR.AI and IMDA have already joined forces on events for the Singapore AI community and now collaborate to assess risks from advanced AI systems, sharing the perspective that AI safety demands both theory and rigorous technical work.

The group has partnered with CSA on agentic AI security studies, such as the paper "Securing Agentic AI" shared at the Singapore International Cyber Week (SICW) last year. FAR.AI has also formed ongoing research links with the NUS AI Institute via Professor Mohan Kankanhalli, whose efforts align with FAR.AI's emphasis on technical AI safety.

The organization also collaborates with leading AI firms such as OpenAI and has worked with AI safety institutes and government partners in various regions. This step highlights FAR.AI's ongoing pledge to deliver substantive, technically focused AI safety efforts alongside the bodies and networks that guide advanced AI creation and oversight.
