Company earns 2026 Sustainability Award for EV education and workforce programs

, /PRNewswire/ -- Electrify America has earned a 2026 Sustainability Award from the Business Intelligence Group in the Sustainability Leadership category. The award honors organizations that transform sustainability pledges into concrete outcomes.

Electrify America earned recognition for its $7.4 million commitment to community-driven initiatives that broadened fair access to electric vehicles across the U.S. in 2025. This funding supported EV education programs in areas facing air quality challenges and economic disparities, making electric mobility more reachable for additional drivers.

Programs backed by Electrify America's funding featured direct community outreach along with extended workforce and STEM development projects:

Valley Clean Air Now hosted ride-and-drive events, incentive paperwork assistance, and dealership tours in California communities, aiding over 2,700 EV purchases.
Charge Across Town connected with nearly 2,500 EV-interested participants, achieving a 26% rise in favorable EV views, with 87% indicating they would consider an EV following a test drive.
East Tennessee Clean Fuels Coalition collaborated with colleges on ride-and-drive events to engage more than 3,000 attendees, many of whom tried an EV for the first time.
Drive Electric Long Island partnered with dealerships to enhance the purchase process, contributing to a 23% growth in EVs on local roads.
Ecology Action reached 2,600+ EV-interested people, resulting in 129 EV purchases and leases via direct assistance.
Plug In America connected with nearly 58,000 EV-interested participants through educational outreach.
Sinclair Community College prepared emergency first responders for EV-related incidents.
Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator created a Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems curriculum to support transitions into green energy roles.
