Eradicating poverty stands at the core of the United Nations 2030 Agenda and reflects a common global goal. This Wednesday, the Global Alliance for Poverty Reduction and Development was formally established in Beijing to drive hands-on collaboration in this area.

Also on that day, the 2026 High-Level Forum on Poverty Reduction and Development convened in Beijing. The Global Alliance was launched jointly by China along with 53 other nations and nine international organizations. The effort focuses on exchanging poverty governance insights, advancing concrete cooperation, and boosting worldwide coordination for poverty reduction and development.
