BICSI and APOLAN have announced the creation of the BICSI Optical LAN Council, formally integrating APOLAN's programs into BICSI to foster expanded industry education, collaboration, and technical involvement with optical LAN across the wider ICT sector.

The Council incorporates optical local area network expertise into BICSI's established, standards-focused ICT structure, bolstering training, recommended practices, and professional direction on how fiber-based systems are assessed, planned, and deployed in contemporary facilities.

This step extends APOLAN's prior contributions to optical LAN awareness and education, with its initiatives, materials, and programs now transitioning into BICSI's comprehensive ICT framework through the new Council.
