PETERBOROUGH - A confrontation between two men reportedly concluded with one dead from gunshot wounds in the driveway and the other suffering multiple stab wounds on Sunday, according to a statement from the Attorney General's Office.

Attorney General John M. Formella said staff from the Attorney General's Office and the New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit responded to a report of an untimely death in Peterborough around 8:30 p.m.

"Around 8:30 p.m. Sunday evening, local law enforcement responded to a disturbance report at a residence on Grove Street. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male deceased in the driveway with apparent gunshot injuries. An adult male resident of the home was also found suffering from multiple apparent stab wounds and was transported to an area hospital for treatment," the release stated.

Based on the investigation thus far, the incident appears to have involved an interaction between the two adult males. There is no known threat to the public at this time, the release said.
