Under the theme Global Governance and International Security Cooperation: Integrity, Innovation, and Inclusiveness, the gathering drew more than 400 attendees to examine conflicts in the Middle East, reforms to global governance, relations among major powers, and the security effects of new technologies such as artificial intelligence in warfare. The discussions underscored both immediate geopolitical strains and contemporary security dilemmas.

Organized jointly by Tsinghua University and the Chinese Institute of Foreign Policy, the forum has become one of China leading nongovernmental platforms for dialogue on international security.

Chinese Vice President Han Zheng delivered the keynote address at the opening ceremony on July 3. Tsinghua University President Li Luming offered welcoming remarks. The event was moderated by Yang Bin, Vice Chairman of the Tsinghua University Council and Secretary General of the World Peace Forum.

Featured speakers included Mushahid Hussain Sayed, former chairman of the Pakistani Senate Foreign Affairs Committee and former chairman of the Senate Defense Committee; Kim Sung-Hwan, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea; Hina Rabbani Khar, former Foreign Minister of Pakistan; Abdel Elah Al Khatib, former Foreign Minister of Jordan; and Gareth Evans, former Foreign Minister of Australia.

As a premier venue for international security dialogue, the World Peace Forum promotes mutual understanding and joint responses to global challenges. Its focus on shared responsibility reflects the continuing value of multilateral cooperation amid shifting global power dynamics.

The event attracted extensive media coverage, with more than 200 journalists from over 70 national and international outlets in attendance. Through open and constructive international engagement, the forum continues to serve as a vital platform for advancing peace, stability, and sustainable development worldwide.
