This week Victory Supermarket Chain disclosed a portion of the earnings Israeli firms generate from merchandise shipped daily into Gaza. Such trade occurs largely out of public view to protect profits and to shield corporate reputations from criticism over the sensitive activity.

After a request from the Israel Securities Authority Victory informed the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange of NIS 99 million in sales to Gaza during the opening quarter. The disclosure supplemented its regular quarterly results that showed overall revenue rising from NIS 604 million to NIS 756 million a gain now attributed chiefly to shipments bound for Gaza.

Names of companies selling into Gaza are not released by the Customs Directorate which cites confidentiality obligations. Most firms stay silent on the matter. One exception is grower Mehadrin which belongs to the Delek Group and recorded NIS 60 million from Gaza deliveries in its latest quarterly filing.

Other firms mentioned in connection with the Customs list include Rami Levi and King Store yet both deny conducting sales to Gaza even though they meet eligibility standards.

Rami Levi CEO Yafit Atias-Levy stated that obtaining a sales license is standard practice for any retail chain. She added that holding such a permit prepares the company for any future scenario including unexpected peace while current policy remains not to sell into Gaza during the conflict.

COGAT reported that 600 to 800 trucks entered Gaza each day early in 2026 with roughly 70 percent carrying food. A United Nations World Food Program assessment valued 2024 humanitarian food purchases at two million metric tons worth 1.5 billion dollars implying an approximate worth of 700 dollars per ton. Market analysts estimate that present truck volumes could generate annual Israeli revenue near NIS 5 billion.

In September 2025 Customs introduced rules allowing large Israeli suppliers to participate in humanitarian transfers to strengthen oversight and reduce risks of goods reaching unauthorized groups. Eligible vendors must exceed specified turnover thresholds set by food sector competition legislation.

Approved traders in Gaza purchase directly from these suppliers. Eighteen such traders cleared by security authorities currently operate and most funding reportedly originates from humanitarian donations. Individual truckloads may reach NIS 1 million in value.

Customs guidelines permit any Gaza business meeting COGAT standards to buy from qualifying Israeli suppliers. Goods then proceed to designated crossings undergo inspection and move onward for distribution within the territory.

Golden Aisco Distribution challenged the large-supplier requirement in court arguing it lacked security justification yet later withdrew the petition leaving the criteria unchanged.

Some Israeli retailers have declined to seek inclusion on the Customs list for principled reasons. Yochananof for instance has stayed off the roster despite qualifying explaining that it serves Israeli customers and chooses not to supply Gaza given ongoing hostilities.
