Guy Fieri and Gordon Ramsay each offer 10-minute burger recipes, so I set up a direct comparison to see which delivered better results.

Ramsay's bacon cheeseburger appears in his Ramsay in 10 cookbook, while Fieri shared his full method when I requested his top burger advice. Fieri stressed that success depends on the entire process rather than just one recipe, noting that toppings can vary but core techniques matter most.

I prepared both versions in my kitchen to determine the superior quick burger. Fieri's approach relies on classic ingredients such as 80 percent lean ground beef, American cheese slices, brioche buns, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles.

Prep work stayed minimal. I shredded the lettuce, sliced the tomato, and cut the onions very thin. I also buttered the brioche buns and warmed them in the oven for a crisp finish.

After seasoning the beef with salt and pepper, I formed it into balls. I placed one on a very hot griddle and pressed it flat with a spatula to about half an inch thick. Once the edges turned crunchy for good caramelization, I flipped the patty and added cheese.

Fieri prefers American cheese for its smooth melt. To finish, I added a bit of water around the patty and covered it with a metal dome so steam could melt the cheese evenly without overcooking the meat.

Assembly proved straightforward. I layered the patty on the bottom bun with tomato, thin onion, and pickles, then added shredded lettuce to the top bun. The result tasted exceptionally juicy with a nice crisp edge, and the melted cheese gave a buttery note. The brioche bun added subtle sweetness, making condiments unnecessary.

Ramsay's version uses more components, including ground beef, brioche buns, cheddar cheese, egg yolks, frozen red chile, tomato, onion, bacon, Little Gem lettuce, mayonnaise, and Sriracha.

I mixed 16 ounces of beef with two egg yolks, salt, pepper, and grated frozen chile, then shaped four patties roughly one inch thick. I cooked them on a lightly oiled griddle over medium-high heat for four minutes, adding bacon and onion slices while increasing the heat.

Meanwhile I stirred together a quick sauce of mayonnaise, Sriracha, salt, and pepper. I toasted the buns and prepared the lettuce and tomato slices. After flipping everything I let it cook another five minutes, then covered the patties with cheese and a metal bowl to melt it smoothly.

Building the burger involved spreading the spicy mayonnaise on the bottom bun, followed by lettuce, tomato, onion, the cheeseburger, and bacon. Extra sauce went on the top bun. While the finished product looked polished, Fieri's simpler method proved easier overall and delivered superior flavor and juiciness in less time.
