Samsung Electronics presented three new foldable smartphones during a launch gathering in London on Wednesday, headlined by an updated Galaxy Z Fold8 sporting a broader, passport-style form.

The firm also revealed the high-end Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, which incorporates Samsung new Flex Titanium display innovation, together with the clamshell-style Galaxy Z Flip8.

The base Fold8 marks the largest design shift in the series. When folded, it adopts a shorter and wider rectangular profile, moving away from the slim, stretched shape seen in earlier Fold editions.

Its 5.5-inch cover screen is notably smaller than those on most standard smartphones. It is also smaller than the 6.5-inch cover screens on the Galaxy Z Fold7 and the new Fold8 Ultra.

Even with the listed size, the handset felt bigger when held due to its expanded width.

Unfolding the Fold8 shows a 7.6-inch inner display, which stays much larger than typical smartphone panels, though it is smaller than the Ultra model 8-inch screen.

The broader shape stands out as the key feature. The cover screen uses a 16:10 ratio, while the inner display supports horizontal 4:3 or vertical 3:4 modes. These ratios suit reading, video playback, work tasks, and handling multiple apps.

Both panels employ Dynamic AMOLED 2X tech and support refresh rates reaching 120Hz. The inner display offers 2,448 by 1,848 pixels, while the cover screen provides 1,972 by 1,248 pixels.

Lavender tops the Fold8 color options

Samsung primary shade for the Fold8 is lavender, a soft purple tone. The phone will also come in cream and graphite, with a pistachio edition limited to online sales.

The Fold8 measures 9.7 mm thick when closed and 4.5 mm when open. It weighs 201 grams.

It runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, Qualcomm tailored chip for Samsung handsets and the same one found in the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

The device ships with 12GB of RAM and storage choices of 256GB, 512GB or 1TB.

Samsung fitted the Fold8 with a 4,800mAh battery, plus 45W wired charging and 20W wireless charging. Magnetic charging requires a separate compatible case.

Two 50MP rear cameras

Samsung placed its top camera setup on the Fold8 Ultra.

The standard Fold8 includes two 50-megapixel rear cameras, plus separate 10MP front cameras on the cover and inner screens.

The Ultra adds a third rear camera and a 200MP main sensor.

Flex Titanium arrives on the Fold8 Ultra

The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra brings Samsung Flex Titanium display build, created after seven generations of foldable phones.

The approach merges two titanium elements: a titanium-alloy film and a titanium plate. Samsung states the build delivers thinness, flexibility and strength while reducing screen crease visibility.

The titanium-alloy film lies under the OLED panel and supports the display internally. Samsung notes it delivers 20 times the stiffness of the polymer film used in earlier foldables.

A flexible titanium plate rests under the film and supports the display module. Its design helps the module attach more securely by cutting air gaps between the screen and adhesive.

Samsung indicates this setup gives steadier support when open yet keeps the flexibility needed for repeated folding.

The Fold8 Ultra features an 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X inner display, along with a 6.5-inch cover display. Both support refresh rates up to 120Hz.

The device measures 8.9 mm thick when closed and 4.1 mm when open. It weighs 214 grams.

200MP camera and bigger battery

The Ultra rear camera setup includes a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.

The front cameras on both inner and outer displays are 10MP.

Like the standard Fold8, the Ultra runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy. It includes 12GB of RAM and storage from 256GB to 1TB.

Samsung raised battery capacity to 5,000mAh from 4,400mAh in the previous model.

Wired charging increased from 25W to 45W, and wireless charging rose from 15W to 20W.

Galaxy Z Flip8 gets a slimmer build

Samsung third new foldable is the Galaxy Z Flip8, which keeps the compact clamshell style of its predecessor.

The device looks much like the Galaxy Z Flip7 and includes a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X inner screen and a 4.1-inch Super AMOLED cover display.

It runs on Samsung Exynos 2600 processor, with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of storage.

Battery capacity stays at 4,300mAh, though wired charging rose from 25W to 45W. Wireless charging is supported as well.

The Flip8 measures 6.1 mm thick when unfolded and weighs 180 grams, down from 188 grams on the prior model.

Israeli prices and launch offers

Samsung has given free storage upgrades in past flagship launches. This year, buyers instead receive a 50 percent discount on moving to the next storage level.

The phones starting prices are generally lower than those announced during last year launch, although the difference varies by model and storage capacity.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra will cost NIS 6,900 for the 256GB version, compared with NIS 7,450 for the equivalent model last year.

The 512GB version will cost NIS 7,600, down from NIS 7,900, while the 1TB model will cost NIS 8,950, compared with NIS 9,000 last year.

The Galaxy Z Flip8 will cost NIS 4,000 with 256GB of storage, down from NIS 4,100. The 512GB version will cost NIS 4,750, compared with NIS 4,550 for last year model.

The standard Galaxy Z Fold8 will cost NIS 6,100 for the 256GB version, NIS 6,900 for 512GB and NIS 8,200 for 1TB.

Samsung is also offering buyers a free six-month subscription to Google AI Pro, which includes access to Gemini.

Prices at Israeli retailers

Prices at Samsung Sunny-operated stores match the company official Israeli pricing.

Partner is offering the 256GB Fold8 Ultra for NIS 6,849, the Flip8 for NIS 3,999 and the Fold8 for NIS 6,049.

Pelephone is selling the corresponding models for NIS 6,899, NIS 3,999 and NIS 6,099, respectively.

GoMobile is offering the 256GB Fold8 Ultra for NIS 6,399, the Flip8 for NIS 3,699 and the Fold8 for NIS 5,699.
