I want him to grasp that practical use does not equal full approval and total rejection will not halt AI spread. Facing AI requires occupying the complicated center ground.

Establishing basic guidelines at home

I keep talks with my son separate from any AI exchanges. I do not delegate important creative work to it. Once work ends I turn to gardening pottery or video games that leave my thumbs sore from play with him.

I cannot predict where Noah will settle on AI. He may stay doubtful voice strong criticism or accept it in his career.

What counts is sustaining our talks so he keeps probing his surroundings and learns how to think not merely what to think. Above all I hope he sees it is possible to engage with something imperfect while keeping his principles intact.

We navigate this together in the moment him as a teen entering a shifting world and me as a parent showing how to live reflectively within it.

For the present that appears adequate.
