Few Star Alliance departures from LAX feature genuine first-class cabins, and Singapore Airlines limits this route to four seats. Limited eligibility keeps crowds minimal.

Guests can choose relaxation zones, visit an open bar, or order dishes from a menu that includes casual items like chicken fingers alongside refined choices.

Staff soon guided us from the lounge straight to the aircraft.

At boarding time, a Singapore Airlines supervisor arrived at the lounge, led me to the gate, and accompanied me onto the plane ahead of other travelers.

Crew members received a personal introduction, and I was shown directly to my assigned seat.

Crew members remained attentive yet unobtrusive, responding to the call button in under 20 seconds on one occasion.

The overall flight impressed, yet the fare proves hard to justify without points.

After nearly 12 hours aloft, arrival proved the sole less-premium segment.

Immigration queues at Narita International Airport appeared lengthy and disorganized, underscoring that even superior onboard service eventually meets ordinary airport conditions.

The flight itself excelled with comfort, refinement, and consistent execution from beginning to end.
