Such opulent touches highlight the effort JPMorgan invested in marking the successful public launch of Elon Musk's spacecraft manufacturer.

The bank plans to welcome approximately 250 SpaceX team members to its fresh Park Avenue offices for a cosmic-themed night of dining and drinks on Friday, according to an insider. The program concludes with a custom light display atop the 60-floor tower showcasing rocket imagery and launches.

The entire affair originated from Jamie Dimon. The JPMorgan leader personally proposed the concept directly to Musk, per the source.

Yet the gesture extends beyond celebrating a major IPO; it also targets hundreds of prospective high-value clients for future business.

Although JPMorgan ranks among lead underwriters for the offering, the invitation strategy focuses on long-term ties with this affluent cohort. The gathering allows deeper engagement with these promising prospects. Hill Markets founder Andrew Benson projects the debut will generate around 4,400 fresh millionaires, among them roughly 400 centimillionaires.

Musk will skip the festivities, but SpaceX president Gwynne Shotwell and CFO Bret Johnson are slated to attend and speak. JPMorgan's transaction specialists plus wealth management head Mary Erdoes will join as well.

SpaceX shares debuted strongly Friday morning, climbing as high as 30 percent to reach $176.52 after opening at $135 during the Thursday pricing.

All day Friday, visitors to the bank's gleaming headquarters will sense its role in the IPO success. A space-inspired soundtrack selected by DJ Yuna will play in the lobby and on the 14th floor social hub, which includes cafes, retail outlets, and eateries. Staff there will wear SpaceX attire.

Images and footage of SpaceX missions will appear on every digital display throughout the 270 Park building.

At the 6 pm highlight, attendees move to the 57th floor for a buffet dinner enhanced by reflective surfaces for a modern atmosphere. Options include the noted steak carving along with sushi selections and a raw seafood station.

The occasion also spotlights the firm's notable collection of artworks and artifacts, such as signatures from Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson plus Jamie Wyeth's 1976 piece titled The Man from Boston depicting John F. Kennedy's 1962 moon speech at Rice University.

Guests proceed next to a cocktail hour called dessert in the stars, followed by the bank's rooftop light spectacle themed around SpaceX.

Other New Yorkers may observe the display from nearby buildings, perhaps during simpler dinners.
