Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's travel plans now serve as a map to leading players in artificial intelligence. His next destination is South Korea.

The Nvidia leader is set to reach Seoul on Friday for his second trip in seven months, highlighting the nation's key position in the AI surge.

This high-profile agenda comes after Huang's time at Computex in Taiwan, a central location for cutting-edge chip production. It also shows an evolving situation for Nvidia.

"Nvidia's reliance on Korea has grown stronger," Jeff Kim, an analyst at KB Securities, noted in a recent report.

As one of the top global makers of memory chips, South Korea has become a significant gainer from the AI expansion.

In May, the nation's semiconductor exports rose almost 170 percent to an all-time peak, supporting South Korea's best export performance in over four decades.

The country's chip leaders have also powered a strong stock market advance.

South Korea's main Kospi index has risen nearly twofold this year, and Samsung Electronics along with SK Hynix each reached over one trillion dollars in market value last month amid the AI momentum.

Yet Huang's visit to South Korea goes beyond memory chips alone.

At Computex earlier this week, Huang pointed to robotics as a key area for upcoming collaboration with South Korea.

With Nvidia seeking production allies to bring AI uses to market, "Korea, which has built extensive manufacturing systems, is becoming a prime testing ground," wrote Kim.

Huang's current trip will draw close attention from investors. A site following his planned schedule in South Korea has already drawn more than 90,000 views as of Friday afternoon, local time.

Earlier this week, shares of LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics rose after news that the Nvidia chief was traveling to South Korea.

During his prior visit to Seoul in October, Huang was seen sharing fried chicken and beer with Samsung Chairman Lee Jae-yong and Hyundai Motor Executive Chair Chung Euisun.

The gathering sparked broad media attention and lifted shares of several Korean fried chicken chains by up to 30 percent.
