I have followed Bravo programming for many years, beginning with The Real Housewives of New York. Each new series seems to improve on the last.

I have followed Summer House since its launch and enjoy it greatly. After college I rented a summer home in the Hamptons, so the show recalls that lively period filled with drama and parties, making me feel young again.

My friends share the same enthusiasm for Bravo shows. Most of us grew up in Rockaway and have known one another since childhood. Although our paths diverged for a time, we have all returned to the area as adults, so gathering fifteen others for the house was simple.

The week before our stay we held a watch party at a bar owned by one friend. We reserved a private room, ordered food, viewed the episode together, and remained afterward for drinks and conversation.

Our winning bid came to $3,500, an amount easily divided among the group.

We traveled in several cars, collecting one friend along the route from Long Island. During the two-hour drive the conversation centered on the show, with nearly everyone expressing strong opinions against Amanda.

As the bidder I chose first and selected Kyle and Amanda's room for its spacious bath and large bed that opens to the backyard.

Guests selected rooms upon arrival without disagreement. We prepared drinks and relaxed by the pool.

A hidden movie theater room with recliners surprised us, yet with sixteen people we opted for the living room to watch together.

The episode began at eight o'clock, and talking was limited to commercial breaks amid frequent shushing.

Commercial discussions grew animated as we reacted to surprising moments and sharp comments from Ciara and Lindsay, while finding Amanda and West difficult to watch.

We continued talking late into the night, played music, and enjoyed drinks outdoors under clear skies. Some stayed up until four in the morning, joking about creating our own version of the show with a cast in their forties.

The next morning several guests returned to work while a few of us enjoyed lunch in Sag Harbor.

The experience proved worthwhile and even more memorable in person because of the personal connections it evoked. It is easy to see why the cast enjoys summers there, filled with laughter, memories, dancing, and late nights that recapture a sense of youth.

The greatest reward came from sharing the occasion with friends who are devoted Bravo viewers. Watching and discussing the series together over the years made celebrating it inside the house especially meaningful.
