Numerous prominent figures converged on Midtown Manhattan during a heat wave to mark the union of one of America's most notable couples.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were married Friday evening at Madison Square Garden in New York City, according to the Associated Press.

The high-profile ceremony was conducted by Adam Sandler, with Swift's brother serving as man of honor and Kelce's brother Jason as best man, the AP noted.

Early Friday, streets near the site, including sections of busy Penn Station, were blocked to vehicles and walkers. Throughout the day, a stream of black SUVs brought guests past a privacy barrier into the arena while clusters of Swift fans waited nearby.

By 8 p.m., the marquee at MSG read "JUST&T MARRIED" in bright lavender lights.
