Trump Media rolled out Truth API, a business-focused data service that supplies faster delivery of updates from leading Truth Social accounts. This covers President Donald Trump, whose steady flow of messages can sway financial markets.

Business clients received entry to the offering on Saturday. Shortly after, Trump posted on Truth Social that he was nearing another agreement to halt his conflict with Iran. On a typical day, such a message would sway oil futures, and early viewers could gain an edge.

"Markets already shift based on Truth Social posts," Kevin McGurn, interim CEO of Trump Media, noted in a statement. "Truth API supplies a direct, licensed, real-time stream of the platform's most influential updates while supporting our plan to earn from proprietary tools via a high-margin, steady income source."

Trump Media has not shared pricing details for the service. Reuters cited unnamed sources indicating talks of fees up to 100000 dollars monthly, or 60000 dollars monthly under a three-year arrangement.

The July 16 announcement for Truth API omitted details on operation, pricing, or the exact delay between subscriber receipt and public availability. The president maintains 13 million followers on the site.

Jim Bianco, president of Bianco Research, observed on X that Truth API might lead to more regular market-moving posts on the platform.

"Trump will aim to keep these new service users satisfied," Bianco noted on Saturday.

Shaun Maguire

Shaun Maguire, a Sequoia Capital partner and Trump backer, voiced opposition to the service in an X post on Sunday.

"Steps like this diminish Trump's policy achievements, of which there have been several," Maguire stated.

Dean Baker

Dean Baker, cofounder of the Center for Economic and Policy Research, suggested the service could come at the cost of regular citizens.

"And, since reporters often skip explaining it, the profits pocketed by insider traders come from the 401(k)s and IRAs of working people," Baker wrote on X on Saturday.

James Surowiecki

Finance journalist and author James Surowiecki argued on Sunday that Truth API breaches insider trading rules.

"Trump is sharing information, including details on his future statements as president and policy matters, that belongs to the US government in return for payment. This breaks his obligation of trust to his employer, the government, and is unlawful," Surowiecki posted on X. "Anyone paying for the feed is also knowingly acquiring misappropriated information, which is illegal."

Jason Calacanis

"All-In" podcast cohost Jason Calacanis viewed Truth API as proof that advisors near Trump fail to offer honest input.

"They fear losing proximity to the Oval Office too much to call this a poor choice. Everyone benefits from hearing 'that is a poor choice,' especially those who succeed," Calacanis said on Sunday. "The nation will face repeated, warranted probes into these efforts."

In another post, Calacanis added: "Picture leading the SEC while the administration offers front-running rights for 1.2 million dollars yearly!"

Joe Saluzzi

Joe Saluzzi, cofounder of Themis Trading, told the Associated Press that Truth API lets buyers outpace other traders.

"A purchaser with systems ready to handle the data will move faster than you or me," Saluzzi said. "The retail investor always ends up behind."

Zach Everson

Zach Everson, director of Public Citizen's Trump Accountability Project, called the idea that Trump would avoid profiting in office a "farce" on Bluesky.

"Yet you claim Trump Media would sell Wall Street the quickest access to his posts without consulting him?" Everson asked after the launch. The president holds a majority stake in Trump Media.

Vuk Vukovic

Vuk Vukovic, founding partner of Oraclum Capital, said on X that his group would test Trump's posts against market moves for any real signals.

"Spoiler: there are none," Vukovic wrote on Sunday. "The posts amount to noise. Even catching a few solid moves ahead leaves losses on the rest that make it pointless. He posts far too often, and 90 percent of the time markets show no reaction. When they do, it can run counter to expectations."

Vukovic added that buyers of options or futures on each post would likely see gains erased by losses.

"Overall, he is selling noise," Vukovic said. "I would skip this purchase on principle and because it amounts to snake oil."

Mebane Faber

Mebane Faber, cofounder and chief investment officer of Cambria Investment Management, shared his disapproval of Truth API in an X post on Saturday.

"Gross and embarrassing," he wrote while reposting a CNBC item on the topic.
