Two entrepreneurs who previously sold their company to Cisco in a deal valued at $500 million have secured $34 million in seed capital for their latest venture.

CEO Nitzan Shapira and CTO Ran Ribenzaft introduced Harmony last year. The platform leverages artificial intelligence to manage employee inquiries within Slack and Microsoft Teams, taking care of processes such as new hire onboarding, granting software permissions, and password resets.

The goal is to eliminate the need for staff to navigate complex internal tools or endure delays with IT and HR support teams, according to the company.

Harmony integrates with over 100 different applications and customizes its replies based on user roles and access levels. Organizations have the option to mandate human oversight prior to any automated actions.

Among its clients are automation firm n8n, investment platform eToro, cybersecurity company Cyera, and apparel brand Kith.

Lightspeed spearheaded the $34 million financing. The firm had also supported the founders' prior business, Epsagon, a cloud monitoring solution acquired by Cisco in 2021. Shapira expressed intentions to grow a substantially larger enterprise this time around instead of seeking an early exit.

Additional backers in the seed round include Hitachi Ventures, Fin Capital, Mercer Ventures, and Operator Partners.

Shapira noted to Business Insider that this seed round exceeds typical sizes, which is common for repeat founders, allowing the company to expand rapidly without immediate need for further funding.

The capital will support expansion of engineering, product development, and sales functions. Harmony currently employs 60 people, with about two-thirds based in Israel and the remainder in New York.
