British Embassy highlights UK gin exports nearing 4 million pounds to Israel.

The British Embassy in Israel partnered with the UK Department for Business and Trade to present a selection of British gin makers in Tel Aviv on Monday, with the goal of building stronger commercial connections between UK distilleries and Israeli buyers.

The Distilling Excellence UK Gin Showcase welcomed Israeli distributors, retailers, hospitality professionals, and food and drink industry representatives for product tastings and direct discussions with British producers.

Over 75 percent of gin imported to Israel originates from British distilleries, based on embassy data. UK gin exports to Israel in bottles up to two liters reached 3.99 million pounds, or about 16 million NIS, during 2024. The annual Israeli gin market is valued at roughly 9.73 million pounds.

The showcase included Brighton Gin, Shortcross Gin, Sky Wave Signature London Dry Gin, and Cotswolds Dry Gin, which has recently become available in Israel via local distributor The Importer.

Well-known brands already available in Israel such as The Botanist, Tanqueray, Bombay Sapphire, Greenalls Gin, along with several British tonic water makers, were also featured. Israeli distillery Milk and Honey joined the gathering as well.

Attendees joined a masterclass conducted by Sky Wave Gin co-founder and master distiller Andrew Parsons, then held meetings between producers and potential Israeli business partners.

UK represents more than half of worldwide gin exports

The UK operates over 1,000 distilleries and supplies more than 50 percent of global gin exports. British gin exports totaled 602 million pounds in 2025, marking a 13.7 percent rise compared to the prior year.

Israel represents a key market for British gin, with rising interest in premium and unique offerings, British Ambassador to Israel Simon Walters told attendees at the event.
