The cloud-based content management firm is recruiting an 'AI Business Automation Engineer' tasked with embedding AI agents throughout its operations.

This role entails collaborating across teams like finance, legal, and HR to redesign workflows through an 'AI-first mindset,' per the company's job description.

'This isn't a side project or something you can just do on nights and weekends,' Box CEO Aaron Levie stated in an X post on Sunday evening. 'You need to design and develop robust agents that will be used in mission critical workflows.'

Amid concerns that AI might eliminate jobs, the technology is spawning innovative positions. Just last week, Stripe advertised a 'Forward Deployed AI Accelerator' to assist its marketing group in adopting AI.

Palantir pioneered the 'forward deployed' strategy, where staff embed in client organizations or teams to implement cutting-edge tech.

Box adopts a similar framework internally. Levie described the role in his X post as 'a highly technical job, very much akin to a forward deployed engineer for internal functions.'

Based in the US, the position resides within IT yet extends across departments, according to the listing. It demands two to three years of experience in IT or software engineering, with pay ranging from $146,500 to $183,000.

AI has birthed other specialized titles like 'prompt engineer' and 'data annotator.'

'This is just one example of the kind of role that AI will start to open up in the future,' Levie noted about Box's initiative. 'I expect most companies will have many flavors of this going forward.'
