Cursor, the trailblazing AI coding startup that just sealed a blockbuster deal with SpaceX, is preparing for a bold hiring push in Asia-Pacific.

During the upcoming six months, the San Francisco outfit plans to recruit 200 staff members in Singapore, Japan, Sydney, Melbourne, and India, according to Nick Miller, a field engineer central to Cursor's growth strategy, who spoke exclusively to Business Insider.

The company's hiring emphasis lies in positions that drive product adoption: go-to-market specialists, field engineers, and AI deployment engineers.

Cursor is set to unveil a London office in July, with further expansions into smaller European locales on the horizon, Miller noted.

Simon Green, a seasoned APAC technology leader with prior stints at Palo Alto Networks, led the establishment of Cursor's Singapore office earlier this month. Their next addition there: a dedicated recruiter, Miller explained, emphasizing that prospects will face interviews from the US team as well.

Cursor's careers portal currently features roughly 90 vacancies in Australia, New York, Berlin, London, and the Netherlands.

With around 800 employees based mainly in San Francisco and New York, the company continues its rapid scaling.

Late last April, Elon Musk's SpaceX revealed a pivotal pact with Cursor, offering the option to buy the AI coding innovator for $60 billion or remit $10 billion for its contributions if no purchase materializes.

"Delighted to team up with SpaceX to amplify Composer. A vital stride toward crafting the ultimate AI coding workspace," declared Cursor co-founder and CEO Michael Truell.

Cursor boasts an impressive roster of clients, including Stripe, Coinbase, Discord, Salesforce, Neuralink, and Nvidia.

Nvidia, which backed Cursor's parent company, deploys the tool firm-wide in engineering and chip design, CEO Jensen Huang disclosed in October.

"AIs are now at the fingertips of all our engineers," he affirmed. "Productivity has soared, and the quality of our work has improved dramatically."
